    Breakfast at Ritter's is a Members-only event

A casual breakfast/brunch in one of Pittsburgh's few remaining traditional diners.

    altRitter's Diner
    Bloomfield/Shadyside
    5221 Baum Blvd
    Pittsburgh, PA 15224

    (412) 682-4852

A classic round-the-clock eatery, Ritter's Diner has been in operation since 1950 when it first opened in a boxcar parked near Station Square. Since 1966 it has been owned and operated by the Velisaris family, moving to the Bloomfield neighborhood in 1975. Truly a place from a by-gone era, with its long counter, small booths and a juke box, Ritter's Diner attracts doctors and attorneys alongside police officers and truck drivers, all of whom are greeted by no-nonsense, veteran waitresses who call you sweetheart.

The menu specializes in hearty breakfasts all day (try the pancakes – particularly the buckwheat cakes – a bagel sandwich or the feta cheese omelet), burgers and fries, gyros, fried green tomatoes, meat loaf with mashed potatoes and gravy, and banana cream pie for dessert. Cash only. No alcohol available. Open 24 hours.

No RSVP needed. Breakfast is on the 4th Saturday of the month. Just meet in the parking lot by 10:00 AM.
